The scene is accelerating on both sides of the Lebanese-Israeli border, as the Israeli army began a ground operation on Monday in southern Lebanon, amid intense aircraft overflights and tank shelling on the southern regions.
Israeli tanks entered Rmeish, southern Lebanon, in light of the power outage, and the roar of the tanks resounded in border areas in southern Lebanon.
On Monday evening, America announced that Israel is “currently carrying out” limited operations inside Lebanese territory.
US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller told reporters: “This is what they told me, that they are currently carrying out limited operations targeting Hezbollah infrastructure near the border.”
Reuters reported, citing a security source, that “the Lebanese army withdrew 5 kilometers from the border with Israel.”
