Emirates Airlines, the largest international air carrier in the world, revealed that it provides its customers with more than 170 tons of the finest coffee annually.

It provides travelers with a wide range of hand-prepared coffees, including Emirates Airlines’ distinctive blend of traditional Arabic coffee, which is served in Emirates lounges and on board its flights to 140 destinations around the world. The carrier participates in celebrating International Coffee Day, which falls on October 1st every year.

Emirates Airlines offers passengers on board its flights more than 130 tons of coffee annually, as it offers its distinctive blend of Arabica coffee produced by the local “Matina” company, which uses the finest types of “Arabica” coffee beans in its preparation, with the addition of natural cardamom and saffron, in line with With traditional recipes that have been passed down through generations, to ensure the preservation of the excellence of the coffee hospitality experience that has formed the essence of Arab hospitality over the centuries.

In addition, the carrier offers its passengers a wide range of coffee types through its network of flights around the world, produced by “Lavazza”, “Coffee Planet”, “Nairobi Coffee and Tea” and a group of independent suppliers around the world.

About 5.1 million passengers relaxing in Emirates’ seven luxurious lounges in Dubai each year consume an average of 26 tons of coffee beans. In the first class lounge in Concourse B at Dubai International Airport, there is a dedicated coffee counter that allows passengers to choose between a variety of three types of single-origin coffee, which are prepared fresh.

Each type of coffee provides a variety of degrees of acidity, bitterness and aroma, and the 34 luxurious Emirates airline lounges spread around the world, used by approximately 2.1 million passengers, offer 14 tons of coffee in its various combinations.

The first and business class lounges also include platforms for the Costa Café, affiliated with the Emirates Retail and Entertainment Company. The Emirates Airlines crew receives specialized training in coffee, where they learn about the origins of coffee, its different blends, and how to prepare the perfect cup for each customer. In practical training sessions, crew members learn how to prepare and serve each type of coffee, and are evaluated on preparing and serving Emirates’ signature Arabic coffee.

First Class passengers can enjoy their coffee in the cup of their choice from a selection of cups, including the luxurious Royal Doulton cups, and Business Class passengers can enjoy their coffee in cups made of fine porcelain.

In addition, Emirates Airlines is keen to use the finest types of water in making coffee, as it is always committed to ensuring the preservation of water quality in tanks and equipment used in transportation and supply lines, through sterilization, maintenance, and careful and regular monitoring and follow-up.
