Reigning champion and winner of the Cup in February, Asterix started with the favor of the forecasts this Friday evening but quickly had to become disillusioned by the accuracy and solid performance of the Carolos. A Tchalou team which, after having fought hard in the first set, simply dominated the debates during the next two sets to win, against all odds, 3-0 (25/23, 25/19, 25/19 ).
A great victory which allows Tchalou to have two match points, while Asterix will have to win the next two matches if the Waeslandiennes wish to retain their title.
For Tchalou, who reached this stage of the competition for the first time in its history, the title of Belgian champion would, by corollary, be the first in the history of the club.
The second round will be held on Saturday April 27 at Asterix AVO (8:30 p.m.). In the event of an equalizer at 1-1, Beveren will host, as winner of the playoffs, the beauty four days later, on Wednesday May 1st.
