When he is not traveling from stadium to stadium as a follower of the Fohlen (foals), Jordy Fourgon daily surveys every corner of an area which is not limited to its 54,000-seat setting, with a camera or a drone as monitoring tools. predilection. “I have access to everything, with the exception of the professional locker room where I need authorization from the sports management”, he reveals.

At the age of 27, the German speaker is an integral part of a team of twenty people, entirely dedicated to developing the image of Borussia Mönchengladbach, through its various media and social networks. “There are five of us on the video, with two photographers alongside us”, explains Jordy, who brings to the whole his passion, his competence and his modern vision of things. “The importance of communication has become essential for a professional club. The leaders give us freedom and the feedback is encouraging. I am a perfectionist, I assume that I must continually learn to improve. We work seriously, the pressure comes from ourselves!”, he smiles, in a confidential tone. “Living for Borussia's victory is my adrenaline! I was absolutely not a fan of Mönchengladbach, I became one!

The game and the atmosphere

Barred by physical problems in his practice of football, the boy very quickly looked for another path in the king sport, which led him to make a living from his passion. “The game and the atmosphere have always attracted me. I had the chance to get started with Wiltz in the middle of the covid period. Without imagining working full time in a hyper-professional environment like I do today. But I am not a careerist because it is an impossible world to penetrate without the support of a contact. I measure my luck to work in Mönchengladbach. Geographically, I remain close to everything: family, friends with whom I still play football on Sunday mornings when possible (Editor's note: in Recht where he comes from, near Saint-Vith). But this opportunity did not fall from the sky. I had to invest, fly on my ass (sic), get up each time and, here too, make myself accepted. I went from a club where I could do everything to another where everything is more professional.”

“Every transfer window is madness!”

Borussia Mönchengladbach was, let us remember, the figurehead of German football in the 1970s. A golden decade during which the club won eight of the ten major trophies in its rich history, on the national level and on the European scene. Recently chaired by one of its former glories, Rainer Bonhof, the Rhine club has lost none of its aura.

Jordy Fourgon, through his job, notices this particularly during periods devoted to transfers. “Every transfer window is madness!”, he reveals, remembering the arrival of American striker Jordan Siebatcheu at the end of last summer. “I spent the whole day with him and part of the night editing because the video was released the next morning, before his contract was signed.

The hidden side of an intense and often exciting job: “Producing an internal club video takes a non-stop day: filming, editing, viewing, retouching then editing. On the other hand, with image rights in the Bundesliga, what you film on the weekend can only be posted from the following Tuesday at midnight! But there isn't a single moment when I don't want to work! Recognition is motivating. You know, receiving a thank you for your work is already good in today's world!

Traveling for gamers, the best!

A graduate in tourism, international and sports management, Jordy Fourgon is a true globetrotter who speaks five languages fluently. The boy is on the move when it comes to traveling! “I love that”, he said. “I always had this dream of experiencing football through travel. I'm coming back from Peru. My first concern was whether I could attend a game. I saw three! Combining the two would be great: film a player and spend another day in a city you don't know…

Jordy Fourgon is preparing for this since at the same time, he has launched himself into independent content creation, serving the image of the players themselves. “I would especially like to expand my network and my contacts”, concedes the one who does not hide his fondness for Anderlecht when we talk to him about our national football. “It's the club of my heart in Belgium. They also do a good job there to develop their image.
