Gymnastics: Maellyse Brassart 7th on the uneven bars in Doha after a fall

Brassart qualified for the final on Wednesday with a score of 13.266 points and a sixth place in qualifying. On Thursday, she was unable to qualify for the balance beam final. She placed tenth in qualifying, with 12.566 points, and is second reserve for the final.

Brassart hopes to win a new ticket for the Olympic Games. To secure a place in Paris in the Qatari capital, she had to win the uneven bars final and hope for a few missteps from her competitors. It was not the case.

A new chance is offered to Brassart at the European Championships in Rimini (May 2-5), the best gymnast from the countries not qualified in the all-around will also have her ticket.

Nina Derwael, Luka Van den Keybus and Noah Kuavita have already forced qualification for the Games. The Belgian men also have a third quota place, which has not yet been allocated.
