Musk’s Shocking Tweet About Trump Stadium Shooting

T + T – Normal size

Billionaire businessman Elon Musk responded to the shooting incident at former US President Donald Trump’s golf course in Florida on Sunday with a shocking tweet that some considered a threat to US national security, demanding that the tech mogul remove it.

The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced on Sunday that the shooting incident at Trump’s golf course “appears to be an assassination attempt” on the Republican candidate for the US presidency.

In a post on his official account on the “X” platform, Musk said: “No one is trying to assassinate Biden and Harris.”

Musk’s comment that no one had tried to assassinate President Biden or Vice President Harris angered many who considered the statement “irresponsible.”

Others who criticized Musk’s post asked, “Do you think before you post things like this?”

Several people called on Musk to delete his post, stressing the need to protect American democracy regardless of who is running for the White House.

Some observers described Musk’s billionaire comment as a “threat to national security,” while others called for “cancelling all government contracts granted to his companies.”

Trump said on September 5 that he would appoint Musk to oversee government spending and implement “radical” reforms if he wins the upcoming presidential election in November.

Trump said he would establish, based on Musk’s proposal, “a government efficiency commission to conduct a full review of the financial accounting and performance of the entire federal government.”

It is worth noting that Musk, who says he has previously voted for Democratic candidates, has strongly supported Trump since a gunman tried to assassinate the former president during a campaign rally in July.

Trump is safe

For his part, Trump’s campaign team said he was safe after shots were fired “within his vicinity” in Florida.

Palm Beach County Sheriff Rick Bradshaw said at a news conference that the Secret Service spotted the muzzle of a gun protruding from a fence, adding that the suspect was between 270 and 450 meters away from Trump, who was playing golf at the time, Bradshaw said.

The suspect fled the scene but was apprehended by local police, who found an AK-47 assault rifle with a telescopic sight and a camera in the bushes at the scene, according to Palm Beach County Sheriff Rick Bradshaw.

On July 13, a gunman opened fire on Trump from a nearby rooftop during a campaign event in Pennsylvania, shooting him in the right ear. The assailant was killed by security forces a short time later. One man died and two others were injured at the rally.
