Yannick Ferrera wants the RWDM to be released from the first minute in Eupen: “There is no point in communicating what is happening in Charleroi”

Since it will determine whether the RWDM will be relegated directly or whether it will still have a chance to save against the winner of the Challenger Pro League play-off contested between Deinze and Lommel. For this match of survival, Ferrera will not be able to count on Jeff Reine-Adélaïde, the captain, or on Tayo Adaramola. Which means the returns of Abner or, say, Mamadou Sarr could be rushed. “We are in a situation where we are at stake for our survival. So we will go with all our strength in presence. We’ll see how long we can hold out.”

How RWDM went from almost barrage to almost relegated

Given the stakes, will the Molenbeekois produce a more forward-looking game? “We have never tried to calculateassures the coach. We always tried to go for the victory. Sometimes the opponent forces us not to be as high as we want to be. There, it will be about letting go. So, yes, there may be more at stake than last week and the week before. But, we must be liberated from the first minute. This will be the key to success in this match.”

The fate of the Brussels club will also depend on the result of the duel between Charleroi and Kortrijk. Molenbeek will cross their fingers that the Zebras play hard and do not lose to KVK. “There's no point in communicating what's happening on the other side. We have to no matter what. It's the starting point. Once we win, then we can take a look towards Charleroi.”

The Eupenois, already certain of going down, have nothing more to play for. But Ferrera obviously doesn't expect any gifts. “I have never seen a team that played without wanting to win. I won't see it Saturday night either. Eupen will want to win and so will we. We don't expect any gifts. We have to do our job without thinking too much about the opponent.”
