Xbox Game Pass members can now play Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition as part of their subscription. This is the first title to reach Microsoft’s gaming service in May 2024, as well as the 59th new Xbox Game Pass addition since the turn of the year.
While Square Enix’s Tomb RaiderSurvivor trilogy has been fairly consistent at maintaining quality, its first entry is still considered to be the cream of the crop, ratings-wise. Specifically, the 2013 game’s Metacritic Metascores range from 86 to 87, depending on the platform, with the Tomb Raider reboot also boasting over 142,000 “Overwhelmingly Positive” user reviews on Steam.

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition Reaches PC Game Pass For the First Time
Starting May 2, the critically acclaimed title is now once again available on Xbox Game Pass for the first time since January 2020. Unlike its initial stint on the service, this returning version of Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition is no longer exclusive to consoles, but also available via PC Game Pass. The semi-open-world action adventure is likely to remain on Xbox Game Pass for at least a year, which is how long its previous run lasted.

Much like its name implies, Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition is the content-complete version of the game, which comes with all of its many DLC packs. The add-ons mostly consist of bonus outfits, weapons, and multiplayer characters. The sole exception to that pattern is Tomb of the Lost Adventurer, an extra location that was once only available as a pre-order bonus. The extra tomb can be found in the Coastal Forest region of the map.
Following this release, Microsoft’s subscribers now have access to the entire Tomb Raider Survivor trilogy. The critically acclaimed trio was rolled out in stages, beginning with Rise of the Tomb Raider‘s Xbox Game Pass debut in December 2023. The final entry in the trilogy, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, reached the subscription service in mid-April.
Xbox Game Pass has already confirmed five more titles for May 2024, starting with the May 7 release of Parabole’s first-person adventure Kona 2: Brume. Open-world cat adventure Little Kitty, Big City is then scheduled to reach the service two days later, followed by Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons on May 14. Around that time is when Microsoft is expected to announce the second wave of its monthly Xbox Game Pass additions. But two of those are already known on account of being previously confirmed day-one releases, with that duo consisting of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 and Hauntii.
