Women's Tour of Spain: Marianne Vos uncompromising in the sprint in the 3rd stage, Blanka Vas still in red jersey

The Spaniard Mireia Benito (AG Insurance-Soudal) left after 12 km for a long raid of 110 kilometers at the head of the race, up to 8 km from the line.

A fall 3 km from the finish caused a break in the peloton. Like Monday, a reduced peloton arrived at the finish for the final sprint.

Marianne Vos left her opponents no chance and won with several meters in advance. The 32-year-old Dutchwoman brings her tally to 252 career victories on the road. This is his fourth success of the season.

The Dutch Charlotte Kool (dsm-firmenich PostNL) took second place, ahead of the Canadian Olivia Baril (Movistar).

Blanka Vas saved his red jersey thanks to the 2 bonus seconds gained during the intermediate sprint of Mora de Rubielos. She is only a small second ahead of Vos, who climbs to second place. The Italian Elisa Longo Borghini (Lidl-Trek) is third at 11 seconds.

The 4th stage will connect Molina de Aragon to Zaragoza (142.3 km) on Wednesday. The women's Tour of Spain will end on Sunday after the 8th stage in Madrid.

Dutchwoman Annemiek van Vleuten has won the last three editions of the event, which began as a one-day race under the name Challenge by La Vuelta before gradually seeing the number of stages increase.
