In the United Kingdom, the shock of the Isla Bryson affair
The name Isla Bryson sounds like tragedy for the progressive left. Until 2020, this Scottish transgender woman was known as Adam. In 2019, Adam, aged 27, found himself accused of raping two women. While awaiting his trial, he changes his gender, adopting the first name of Annie, then Isla. In February 2023, Isla was sentenced to eight years in prison and sent to the women's-only Cornton Vale prison. A month later, the press revealed the affair and the scandal broke out. Bryson will be transferred to a men's facility. In the process, The Times reveals that UK women's prisons hold six trans women.
