when teachers are victims of school harassment

What if professional hell for teachers was not in class but… in the “teachers’ lounge”? Recent victimization surveys among school staff reveal a growing tension in relationships between adults. Harassment suffered by children is now a well-known phenomenon. The one that affects teachers goes under the radar.

In the latest annual report from the National Education Mediator, Catherine Becchetti-Bizot, published in 2023, the figures nevertheless speak for themselves: 14% of referrals from the institution's staff, or 548 requests, concerned professional relationships. An increase of almost 67% in five years. They concern tensions with the hierarchy or between colleagues, situations of sidelining or isolation.
