West Ham could ‘attract’ exciting Moyes replacement at London Stadium

West Ham United are now at a level whereby they could attract “almost any manager in the world”, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The Hammers have started the season very poorly and are currently 16th in the Premier League table, leading to talk regarding the future of manager David Moyes.

GiveMeSport The Verdict

What is the latest news involving West Ham?

Owing to West Ham’s disappointing league position, Moyes is under pressure to turn things around at the London Stadium, with key insiders telling Claret & Hugh that results cannot continue the way they have been, and that the season so far has been unacceptable to the West Ham hierarchy.

However, the same report states that the manager has some credit left in the bank due to the good performances over the past couple of seasons, and with no move made after the 2-0 defeat to Leicester City, it appears that he is set to stay in the immediate future.

90min also indicate that the 59-year-old’s job is safe for now, but the board have been inundated with messages from representatives of managers and coaches expressing a desire to talk to the club about a potential change of personnel in the dugout, and knowing that this interest is there could mount the pressure on the Scot even further.

What has Jones said about West Ham?

Jones believes that West Ham, barring a few exceptions, could attract any manager that they want if they were to part with Moyes.

In an interview with GIVEMESPORT, Jones said: “I honestly think that West Ham could attract almost any manager in the world.

“Take away Pep Guardiola and your very, very best coaches, anyone underneath that I think will be very interested in the West Ham job the next time it comes around, there’s so much going for it.”

Should West Ham sack Moyes?

It has been a difficult start to the campaign for the Hammers, but their manager is responsible for a remarkable change in fortunes at the club, and he has so far delivered in the Europa Conference League, securing progression to the knockout stages with 18 points in Group B.

Moyes was responsible for a makeover of the Irons in the summer transfer window, spending roughly £157m to bring in some much-needed depth to his squad, breaking the club’s record transfer fee by sealing a deal for Lyon playmaker Lucas Paqueta, while also signing striker Gianluca Scamacca for £35.5m.

Consequently, it is clear to see why there is unrest at the London Stadium, with the fans recently booing the decision to withdraw Said Benrahma against Crystal Palace, a game that they went on to lose 2-1.

That said, Moyes has earned some more time in the West Ham dugout due to his previous success, and the club should at least give him until after the home game against Brentford in late December, rather than making a hasty decision.
