Chronicle Vanasch: almost 100 anti-doping controls

In the end, everyone is obliged to put things into perspective. It is unthinkable to live with a negative emotion from the past. More often than not, we leave the field with the positive.

This season, the ION Hockey League welcomes Red Lions from eight different clubs. Every week, we compete against each other, which makes the sporting challenge exciting. Having been together for 15 years, we know each other by heart. We are able to anticipate the intention of the other. I know where Luypaert or Boon will put me to sleep. On the strokes, I also know their first idea. The challenge is to surprise others by innovating. This applies to every duel on the pitch, whether between attackers and defenders or with goalkeepers or midfielders.

Vanasch Chronicle: Showing the ION Hockey League to as many people as possible

Next week, the climate will be special because half of the Red Lions will no longer be involved in the championship. Each person eliminated had to digest the disappointment. Another opportunity has opened up. I plan to use the two weeks of play-off to do a lot of individual preparation. We will have a small working group, which will allow us to work on certain details. I will do a reboot on a mental level to start again 100% in the final sprint of preparation for the Olympic Games. Those who compete in the finals will follow another path.

All the Red Lions will have a kind word for their brothers whether or not they played in the play-offs in Belgium or the Netherlands. When I played in Hoofdklasse, I remember Loick Luypaert who was super happy for me when he had just lost against my team. We are a family that puts the interests of others before our own.
