Body reduced the gap on the restart and Marloie wasted several opportunities to equalize, through Devresse, Jadot and Kalombo. It's finally Devresse, who snatches the 2-2 and… the 2-3 in the final! Enough to liberate the entire Marlovan people and an entire province despite a few last scares after Lambert's red.
Marloie was therefore able to put a happy ending on a season that was far too complicated. While they hoped to get closer to the first five places, the Marlovanians, who had nevertheless achieved a very good Belgian Cup, completely missed their start to the season. A record of two points out of thirty that the Famennois dragged like a ball and chain throughout the season. If certain periods were more interesting, notably the last outings before the break and the start of the second phase, Marloie cruelly lacked consistency, constantly giving too many gifts to the opponents. Executives who blew hot and very cold, absences in the two rectangles, long-term injuries and a Jacquemart “saga” to which ultimatums were given too regularly during the first five months of competition never allowed for the Marlovanese to experience a peaceful season. Marloie will now be able to turn the page and focus on the next season. An upcoming season marked by reconstruction since of the eleven players starting this Sunday, only five will be present at the start.
