Weapons in No Rest for the Wicked alter how a player approaches combat by drastically changing the flow. A tank wielding a heavy two-handed Claymore fights very differently from a rogue wielding two daggers and light armor or someone using a sword and shield. Understanding the best way to use a weapon takes time and practice to learn. While some are easy to understand, others require a bit more effort to get a handle on.
The bow is one of the more confusing weapons to wield because, unlike swords, clubs, daggers, or the claymore, it is an off-hand weapon like the shield and will need to be equipped in the off-hand slot for it to function. Wielding the bow is a little unintuitive and requires some knowledge to use it properly.

How to Use the Bow in No Rest for the Wicked
All damage dealt by a bow is through skills in the bow’s rune slots. There are no arrows to equip; they’re auto-generated out of thin air every time a skill is triggered.
Equipping a bow requires investing in the
Dexterity stat at level up
. Since there is no respec option in
No Rest for the Wicked,
take careful consideration before making this decision, as there is no going back.
On PC, hold CTRL to switch to the bow, press 1, 2, 3, or 4 to cycle through the skills attached to the bow, and press the right mouse button to fire off the skill. On an Xbox controller, hold LB to switch to the bow and press X, Y, A, or B to trigger the respective skill.
All bows come with two basic skills: Arrow and Multishot. Casting the Arrow skill consumes 15 Focus and fires a single shot. It’s the basic combat skill players will find the most use out of as it allows the player to fire off roughly six shots from a full charge.
Multishot consumes 100% of the Focus bar and fires off three arrows in quick succession. It’s better for burst damage against a nearby foe but wasteful use of Focus if you’re not in a pinch.
Additional skills can be slotted to the bow using Runes, allowing players more options in combat. Runes can be bought and slotted into rune slots at Eleanore at the Marketplace in Sacrament.
How to Get Bows in No Rest for the Wicked
Both Fillmore, the blacksmith, and Whittacker, the woodworker, have the possibility of stocking a Shortbow for sale at their shop. It can typically be bought for around 1 Silver and 50 Copper; however, the price can fluctuate depending on the rarity of the bow being sold. Alternatively, bows can also sometimes drop from certain enemies (very low drop chance) or be found inside chests.
