Unai Emery remains Aston Villa manager until 2027

Aston Villa, which is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year, qualified on Thursday, to the detriment of the French club Lille, for the semi-finals of the Conference League where it will face the Greeks Olympiacos Piraeus. Emery obtained the club's first European qualification since 2010 at the end of last season.

The Villans are looking for a first European trophy since 1982, the year they won the European Champion Clubs' Cup, 1-0 in the final against Bayern Munich, after knocking out RSC Anderlecht in the semi-finals.

“We are moving forward together with the Villa supporters, the club owners, the management and this group of players of whom we are proud,” said the 52-year-old Spaniard, quoted by the club.

Former coach of Sevilla FC (2013-2016) whom he led to three consecutive victories in the Europa League, Paris Saint-Germain (2016-2018), Arsenal (2018-Nov.2019) and Villarreal (2020-Oct 2022), Emery had recently been cited among the potential successors of Thomas Tuchel who will leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season.
