Two Molenbeek residents in hospital, the RWDM supporter of Eupen, the Hubert crowd: what to remember from RWDM-Charleroi

Dari again scorer, Hubert's team

In a match that the RWDM had to win to get a precious victory in its quest for a play-off place, it was… Achraf Dari who stood out. In a walking ball, never attacked by the slightest RWDM player, the Moroccan attempted a floating shot which seemed easily captured by Guillaume Hubert but the Molenbeek goalkeeper had a hole and the ball went to the bottom. This is already the third goal for defender Carolo since his arrival at Sporting. He scored in the defeat against Anderlecht (1-3) and above all scored a crucial goal in the fight for maintenance during the victory won in Kortrijk while we were playing the second day of the playdowns.

Guiagon man of the match, Hubert and Marsoni at fault: the notes after RWDM-Charleroi

Three injured in one half

Beyond the debacle suffered by the Molenbeekois, the first half was marked by the exits due to injuries of three players. After around ten minutes, Adaramola was treated twice before having to leave the field. Hit in the hip, he was taken to hospital as soon as he left the field. “We hope it’s not a fracture”, specified Yannick Ferrera. Ten minutes later, it was Dari's turn to call on the healers. Hit in the ankle, he tried to get back into the game but ultimately had to give way to Bager. And then just before the break, Jeff Reine-Adélaïde received a ball in the face which knocked him out. Remaining on the ground for a long time, losing blood, the RWDM captain remained unconscious for around ten minutes before being evacuated on a stretcher. “He was having tests to see if there was a brain hemorrhage”specifies Ferrera.

Charleroi makes short work of the RWDM which no longer has its fate in its hands to maintain (1-3)

The RWDM will have to support Eupen and then Charleroi

By losing miserably to Charleroi this Saturday afternoon, the RWDM put itself in a more than delicate position in the quest for the play-off place. To prevent this Saturday's fiasco from having too many negative repercussions on the standings, the people of Molenbeek must pray that Kortrijk and Eupen part ways this Sunday evening. If the Courtraisians succeed, Yannick Ferrera's players would then find themselves 15th and would have to count on a negative result from Kortrijk to Charleroi next weekend, while winning in Eupen. A victory for Eupen in Kortrijk this Sunday would then offer us a final day of suspenseful playdowns since the RWDM, Kortrijk and Eupen would then be held in two units.
