This time, it will no longer be in pairs but in threes that she will participate in the event, in the company of Christine Vanden Abeele, a jogger affiliated with the USBW club like her, and Loïc Gelebart, a Frenchman. living in Morocco. “When the opportunity to go on a raid presented itself, I let myself be tempted without hesitation, confides Hanane. I am happy to share this moment with Christine, who was charmed by my first adventure, and Loïc who we are going to discover.”

Christine confirms, the story of Hanane's adventure last year convinced her. “Hanane’s experience spoke to me a lot and I wanted to take on this great challenge. Surpassing myself and running for a good cause motivated me. We are going to run for the Friends of the Pink Ribbon association, a cause that is close to my heart since one of my sisters went through the difficult ordeal of fighting breast cancer.”

Loïc goes on an adventure with two strangers, determined to live an experience. “I am 60 years old, I have played a lot of team sports, especially rugby. I then took up mountain biking and running. I quickly appreciated the efforts in nature, with friends, this convivial side of the outings. When I heard about the raid, I was immediately attracted by this side of adventure in nature, surpassing oneself through sport. And then doing it with three people, with two women I don't know, I found it very original. We will discover each other throughout this adventure but we share the same values and the same objective, so it can only work.”

We won't be the youngest but we have trained well. And then we don’t do this for performance, we do it for surpassing ourselves, to challenge ourselves through sport, to experience strong emotions together and to support a good cause.”

At 61, Christine says she is ready for this extraordinary challenge. “With three children and a busy professional life, I started running late in life. I started running in 2018 and a few months later, on a whim, I was at the start of the Amsterdam marathon, without preparation. In the end, it went well, I finished it, proud of myself. Today, I would say that the challenge proposed by Hanane comes at the right time. I just hope I can handle the heat well.”
