During the first months of 2024, Tunisia succeeded in recovering more than 5,000 hectares of its lost forest cover due to fires recorded in its highlands in recent years, which were caused by high temperatures due to climate change, in addition to human errors of forest visitors for the sake of recreation or economic activities related to forests.
