The candidates for the final victory tried to make Lopez falter in the two climbs of the Palu del Fersina (12.5 km at 6.1%) like the Bahrain Victorious with the Italian Antonio Tiberi and the Dutchman Wout Poels. A small group finally competed for victory in the sprint and Paret-Peintre was the fastest ahead of Tiberi and his brother Valentin Paret-Peintre (Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale). The Frenchman lands his first bouquet of the season, the 4th of his career.
