Tour de Romandie: Thibau Nys “worked very hard” to obtain this victory even if “for some it may seem normal”

“For some, this may seem normal. But I wanted this victory so much,” reacted the son of Sven Nys on the line. “I worked very hard for this. My first goal was to be in good shape for this race. Then, when you win, it's something else again.”

Thibau Nys also said he would remember this day “forever”. As the new leader of the general classification, he was not putting pressure on himself for Friday's 15.5 kilometer individual time trial in Oron. “Most of all, I’m going to enjoy it,” said the 21-year-old runner.

In the general classification, Nys is 4 seconds ahead of the Italian Andrea Vendrame (Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale). Australian Luke Plapp (Jayco AlUla) follows in 3rd position at 22 seconds.
