However, over time, CD Projekt Red put its head down and worked on making this title as robust and engaging as possible, removing any annoying bugs in the process. The Movement In This Game Is A Lot Of Fun

One thing that took many people by surprise in Cyberpunk 2077 was the robust movement system. Enhancing V’s jumps and bounding around the world of Night City makes for a great time, with the simple act of jumping and climbing around in the game’s many stellar environments being a blast to engage with in every way.

Players should make it a point to get augmentations that aid the traversal mechanics, allowing them to scale the rooftops of Night City and jump around like it’s no one’s business. That being said, a single mistake can send V plummeting to their death, so it’s important to save beforehand if players want to take some huge risks while parkouring in and around Night City.

21 Ride The Night City Area Rapid Transit Trains

An Immersive Way To Explore The City

Back when Cyberpunk 2077 came out, a lot of people had issues with the lack of immersion in Night City. Sure, the neon-soaked streets and cramped districts certainly added to the immersive feeling of Night City, but players need only roam around the world for a few minutes back when the game launched to realize that the game wasn’t as immersive as most people expected.

Props should be given to CD Projekt Red for ensuring that the complaints of players when it came to these immersive actions were addressed. A wealth of content was added to the game that aided a player’s immersion, with the NCART metro stations being added as additional fast travel points that V could use to travel around Night City if they were bored of jacking vehicles and driving around without a care in the world.

20 Call Your Partner Over To One Of V’s Apartments

A New Addition That Makes Sense For V And The Romance Of Their Choice

Romances in Night City are pretty prevalent, and players can enjoy something meaningful aside from just messing around with a joytoy every now and then. There are a total of four viable romance options in the game that cater to both genders and varying sexual orientations. However, a huge complaint players had here was that these romantic partners just ended up fading into the background after players cemented the romance for good.

Thankfully, a later update added a much-needed feature that let players hang out with the romantic partner they’ve chosen in the apartment of their choice. This makes for a great time as players spend some intimate time with the loves of their lives and further deepen their romantic bonds, which takes on a whole new context by the time players reach the end of this game.

19 Engage In Vehicular Combat

New Combat Mode Added In Update 2.0

Update 2.0 finally adds the much-requested feature of vehicular combat into the game. Now, players can finally engage in high-speed firefights on the streets of Night City as they take out their pursuers without losing any speed in the process.

It’s a shame that vehicular combat doesn’t play a huge role in the main story of Cyberpunk 2077, but it’s still a ton of fun to engage with if the situation is appropriate. Phantom Liberty certainly makes more use of vehicular combat, and fans can only hope that these improvements lead to Cyberpunk 2077‘s sequel receiving the launch it deserves.

18 Respec V

Perks Can Be Reset At Any Time; Attributes Can Only Be Reset Once

Update 2.0 overhauls the attribute and perk system to be more engaging and in line with the core gameplay of the title. Perks are now more meaningful than ever before, discarding the barebones damage multipliers that were rife in this system.

Both perks and attributes can be reset, with the caveat being that the latter can only be respec’d once. However, given the hours that players will spend in this title, a single respec is all they’ll need to mold V in their image. It’s a game-changer that makes the RPG elements of Cyberpunk 2077 more player-friendly than ever before.

17 Buy New Apartments

New Domiciles For V Added In One Of Cyberpunk’s Many Lauded Updates

After the launch of Cyberpunk 2077, players complained about the lack of content that could get them truly immersed in this massive RPG. CD Projekt Red heard these complaints, allowing players to buy apartments in Night City courtesy of a post-launch update. Suffice it to say, fans were glad to enhance the number of domiciles they could spend time in while roaming this open world.

Some of these houses are quaint, while others are positively lavish in every way. Buying new apartments allows V to establish their name as a Night City legend while also giving players an excuse to spend their money on something worthwhile. After all, the economy of Night City is pretty broken, with players having a vast horde of eddies in no time at all.

16 Find The Tarot Cards

Many Hidden Images Scattered Across Night City

Tarot Cards play a huge role in Cyberpunk 2077, governing V’s fate and deciding the events that shape his life and bring him on the path he’s on right now. After their brain is infected by the biochip, V can see images of these Tarot Cards scattered all over Night City. The artwork is pretty beautiful, and each Tarot Card has a unique description of its own too.

This makes for a great excuse to go to unexplored corners of the map to gaze at these images and imprint them into memory. Some of the Tarot Cards in the game can only be found later on in the main endings, which does a great job of tying in this mechanic with V’s complicated journey.

15 Call Jackie’s Number

A Heartfelt Conversation With A Dear Friend

Jackie is V’s close friend who participates in a ton of missions with him in Night City. Despite the crude nature of his introduction across all three Lifepaths, Jackie still makes for a great character whom fans will love interacting with. He’s charismatic, knows how to get the job done, and helps V navigate the bowels of Night City, which is precisely why his death in the game is easily one of the most tragic events in Cyberpunk 2077. It serves as the start of V’s quest to get rid of the biochip that is slowly infecting him with the presence of Johnny Silverhand.

V has a cellphone that he can use to call various characters in the game during certain moments. What most people may have missed out on is the fact that V can call Jackie as well after his demise. Obviously, no one picks up, but this doesn’t stop V from going on a rant as if they were talking to his best friend before lamenting his loss in one of the more emotional moments in Cyberpunk 2077 — one that is completely optional.

14 Test Out Some Mods

Mess Around With Experimental Content Or Tweak Elements Of The Vanilla Game

Although it’s still relatively early days in the grand scheme of things, the modding community has already released some fantastic mods for Cyberpunk 2077. Some of these offer a quality of life or visual upgrades, but others can completely change the way that players interact with Night City and its many inhabitants.

There’s a great selection of weird mods for Cyberpunk 2077 too, including one which completely removes all of the people from Night City. Once installed, the city’s streets become reminiscent of those depicted in movies like 28 Days Later and I Am Legend. It’s a little strange at first but gives players a chance to take in all the finer details in the game.

For all its problems, one of the genuine highlights of Cyberpunk 2077 is its fantastic setting. Night City provides a near-perfect backdrop for the game’s story and is full of secrets that are just waiting to be discovered. A lot of the things that are worth seeing aren’t secrets though, more a testament to the care and dedication that the developers put into creating a living, breathing world.

Though there are plenty of fantastic cars to drive in Cyberpunk 2077, players really should take some time to explore the city on foot. Granted, they’ll likely end up getting murdered after a while, but they’ll probably have a lot of fun doing it. Besides, on the way there, they should be able to get a much better idea of the city’s scale and how its diverse population co-exists with one another outside of scripted main story events.

Completionists aside, a lot of players tend to ignore Trophies and Achievements in favor of focusing on a game’s main story campaign. This is all well and good, but Trophies and Achievements can often provide additional insight into some of a game’s best side content while also providing challenging or comical moments that most players would have never run into were they not in pursuit of a Trophy or Achievement. This is very much the case in Cyberpunk 2077.

Although there are quite a few missable Trophies/Achievements in Cyberpunk 2077, the majority can be tackled at any point during a playthrough. As well as all of the great rewards that come from unlocking them, there’s often an accompanying sense of accomplishment for having completed a difficult task or showing the dedication needed to track down an entire set of collectibles. The latter can also provide a sense of purpose, which may be useful for those who’ve gotten a little too lost as they make their way through the sprawling streets of Night City.

11 Go On An Easter Egg Hunt

The World Of Night City Is Populated By Many Easter Eggs

Many developers like to pay homage to other video game series by hiding Easter eggs in their titles for adventurous players to discover. Although a little less common, some even like to include elements from television shows and movies. As it turns out, CD Projekt Red is one such developer.

Cyberpunk 2077 is loaded with Easter eggs, including references to the Harry Potter series as well as several relating to the developer’s excellent Witcher trilogy. It’s also possible to find Hideo Kojima in one of the game’s missions as well as one of the baby pods from his latest title, Death Stranding.

10 Revert Back To Version 1.0

Night City is not the safest place in the world. Like, it is incredibly dangerous to do something as simple as a walk down the street. Someone needs to step up to save the people of this city and that person could be the player.

Check out the map to discover the location of assaults currently in progress. They are denoted by a blue symbol with a baseball bat. But be careful, not every assault will be an easy task for V the Vigilante. Keep an eye out for that danger indicator on the map. Players will build up street cred as Night City’s cybernetically-enhanced crusader in no time.

8 Hang Out With Joytoys

Engage In The Carnal Pleasures Night City Has To Offer

So, players have found themselves in the (not-so) great neighborhood of Jig-Jig town. Sure, there are some pachinko parlors over this way, but let’s skip that for a bit. There are some more adult activities that players can partake in if they know who to ask.

If players check out the map, they should find a white symbol with an image of lips. There are a couple of different options available here and across the map, but they all function essentially the same. Shoot some EuroDollars to their account and get treated to a brief cutscene that is sure to entertain the more explicit side of V.

7 Grow Your Car Collection

Collect All The Games’ Vehicles

As players explore the various districts in Night City they will meet a handful of different fixers. Fixers are the local crime bosses in Cyberpunk 2077. Aside from handing out jobs and missions, they will also periodically offer players the chance to buy new vehicles.

These are expensive. Like, buying a new car using real-world money is expensive. That means that players will likely have to save up a bunch of their ill-gotten gains to upgrade their rig. But, let’s be honest, the starting car is not exactly what someone as cool as V would be driving, so it’s totally worth the money. These cars are so cool they have even found their way into Forza.

6 Become The Ultimate Cyborg

Visit Ripperdocs To Augment V’s Body And Turn Them Into A Dealer Of Death

One of the coolest (and most prohibitively expensive) aspects of Cyberpunk 2077 is the ability to alter V’s physical body with upgraded components. To do so, players just need to head to their local ripper doc and make sure they have the EuroDollars to make their cybernetic dreams become a reality.

Need new eyes? Got it. Feel like V should be able to jump higher? Get new legs. Want to become a terrifying monster whose arms open to reveal blades like V is actually Baraka from Mortal Kombat? That too is an option. Keep in mind that Update 2.0 changes the way cybernetics are handled in the game, with certain augments integral to increasing V’s armor stat.

5 Hunt Down Cyberpsychos

Track Down And Face Off Against Cyberpsychos Who’ve Lost Their Minds

There is a horrific mental illness burning its way through Night City’s streets. It is called Cyberpsychosis. Essentially, when people have too many cybernetic implants and augmentations to their body they are at higher risk of developing this dissociative disorder.

As players can imagine in a world like this, there is a good number of these sad souls that must be tracked down around the map. Keep an ear out for calls from Regina Jones. She will let players know where Cyberpsychos are and reward them for capturing them alive.

4 Help Out Your Friends

Participate In Numerous Side Quests With V’s Buddies

As players explore Night City and the surrounding area they are sure to meet a huge variety of characters. While most of these are just going to be people that they shoot to death immediately, there are sure to be a few who they want to hang around with.

Players should make sure that they are constantly checking their text messages and calls from these people whom they hold near and dear to their hearts. They will get a chance to do special quests from these characters and may even get some romantic options if they stick around long enough.

3 Get Some Cool Threads

Update 2.0 Makes Clothing Choices Totally Independent Of Random Armor Values

As players explore the various districts in and around Night City they are sure to pop into the inventory screen only to wonder how anyone can take V seriously in their mismatched, neon-green, and red outfit. This simply will not do.

Players should therefore save up some EuroDollars and head to the map to find a white icon with an image of a jacket on it. These locations scattered around the map are clothing shops. Each region will have its unique clothing options for V to wear and look cool while making their way through the game. With Update 2.0, armor stats aren’t tied to what V’s wearing anymore, meaning that players can deck their character out however they see fit.
