The Planet Crafter: Recycling Machine Guide

Quick Links

In The Planet Crafter, you can make a variety of objects to help you terraform your planet. You can create bigger backpacks, stronger exoskeletons, jetpacks, and microchips to help you move better, faster, and mine faster. But the only way to deconstruct these items in The Planet Crafter back into their original materials is with the Recycling Machine. This machine is kind of weird to use, so this guide is designed to help you use it to the best of your ability.

How to Use the Recycling Machine in The Planet Crafter

Since you are most likely here to see how this machine is used in The Planet Crafter, this article will cover that first. In order to use the Recycling Machine, you need to stand behind it and interact with the little blue box on the back of it. If you have your deconstruction tool active, you can’t use it, so make sure to roll off of deconstruction before interacting with it.

This box has just one slot inside of it. Put the object you want to recycle inside this little box, and then press the red button beside the box. The light will be on if you have put something that can be deconstructed inside the machine. After you have hit the button, the materials that the item was made of will appear on the front of the Recycling Machine in this survival game.

The items that can be put into this machine is anything you can make and take with you; items that you build with the Q menu cannot be put into the machine. But you can deconstruct things like Fertilizer, Jet Packs, Backpacks, Explosive Powder, and circuit boards in Planet Crafter.

How to Make a Recycling Machine in The Planet Crafter

Recycling Machines blueprints can only be found on a blueprint microchip. While it may not always be there, it has been found in the wreck immediately north of the starting zone. The recipe for it is two Deconstruction Microchips and three Super Alloy hunks. You can farm Super Alloy pieces in the rock maze north of the starting location, and Deconstruction Microchips are made in the basic crafting machine where you can make water bottles and oxygen tanks. The Recycling Machine can be placed inside your base. The Recycler uses -12.5/s energy to keep running, so you may need some additional power to make sure things don’t stop running in your Planet Crafter base.
