The HBO Max platform will be launched in Belgium on July 1, with the program: series and … Olympic Games

Launch for the Olympics

The Olympic Games will take place in the heart of Paris from July 26 to August 11, 2024. HBO is therefore launching its platform just before this long-awaited competition. There is no doubt that this timing is calculated, since the platform has already announced that it will offer its customers the opportunity to follow the competition live.

Free sport on TV, a Belgian specialty

In terms of prices, sport is also in the spotlight, since Warner Bros. Discovery will offer plans between 5.99 euros per month (with advertising) and 13.99 euros monthly (without advertising and accessible on four devices). Sports fans will be able to pay for a special “sports supplement” subscription, at 5 euros per month. Full details on the plans and what they offer have not yet been revealed.

The name HBO Max was chosen for the platform in Belgium and the Netherlands, “due to local market conditions”. Elsewhere, she is simply called “Max”. Early access will be possible from June 11 but the catalog will be more limited, with certain titles only available in English and French. All content will be accessible on July 1st. The Belga press agency also confirmed that customers of Be TV, which already exclusively broadcasts HBO programs, will have access to the platform at no additional cost from June 11. The advertising agency chosen for the Belgian market is Ads&Data.
