The Best Operators in Rainbow Six Siege

Rainbow Six Siege is a tactical shooter developed by Ubisoft. This team-based shooter provides a 5v5 multiplayer experience where teams switch between the roles of Attackers and Defenders. The game endorses strategic Site rushes to defuse the bomb or deal with hostages. Being a one-shot headshot game, there is a high skill ceiling, and players can not run and gun.

One of the main things Rainbow Six Siege is known for is its diverse selection of Operators, each of whom have unique and distinct gadgets. Every operator in the game has a different playstyle, and as the game offers a lot of maps, many operators are overpowered on specific maps. Choosing which operators are great can be tricky. That’s why we have made a tier list for all the operators and included details on the best ones.

Best Operators In Rainbow Six Siege (S Tier)

The addition of the new Operation Deadly Omen brought a new Operator, as well as the rework to shields and balance changes to scopes. With this addition, there are quite a few operators that sit on the S-Tier and stand out from the rest.

Most of the operators mentioned in this Tier are defenders mainly because of their great utility in protecting the site and the great arsenal they have. Since these are the best choices in Rainbow Six Siege, it’s worth examining these particular operators in a bit more detail.

Ying

Ying in Rainbow Six Siege

  • Price: 10,000 Renown
  • Speed: 2
  • Health: 2
  • Unique Ability: Candela

Ying is a 10,000 Renown Attacker in Rainbow Six Siege. Introduced in the Operation Blood Orchid expansion, Ying has remained a popular character because of her T-95 LSW primary LMG and one of the most overpowered tools in the game, the Candelas. She has four flash cluster charges that can blind enemies for quite a long time. These charges are different from Stun Grenades, because they impact a larger area and can be cooked to shorten the delay before the detonation. They can also be placed on breakable walls, similar to Fuze‘s Ability.

With this Ability, Ying can fit into quite a lot of team compositions, forcing defenders to pick Jager or Wamai in order to counter her. She comes with Smoke Grenades and Hard Breach Charges that can both be useful in different Bomb Sites.

Warden

  • Price: 10,000 Renown
  • Speed: 1
  • Health: 3
  • Unique Ability: Glance Smart Glasses

Warden was introduced in Operation Phantom Sight. He has the MPX submachine gun and the M590A1Shotgun for Primary Weapon, which are some of the best weapons in the game. The P-10C comes with a red dot sight, and the SMG-12 is a fast-firing machine pistol that acts as a secondary.

The reason he is mentioned right after Ying is that Warden hard-counters Ying in every way. His Unique Ability is the Glance Smart Glasses, which are eyewear that improves visibility. This can be used against Smoke and Stun Grenades. When Ying’s Candelas flash, if the Warden uses his ability, the player will be able to see everything clearly, denying Ying to push in the Site.

Warden is a three-health character. Before the recent change, he was the go-to Defender because of the 1.5 Sight, but because of its removal, he has gone down just a small bit.

Dokkaebi

dokkaebi rainbow six siege operator

  • Price: 10,000 Renown
  • Speed: 3
  • Health: 1
  • Unique Ability: Logic Bomb

Next up is Dokkaebi. For her weapons, she has the Mk 14 EBRbattle rifle and BOSG.12.2 double-barrel shotgun, which can one-shot enemies from far away. She also has good secondary options, such as the SMG-12 and GONNE-6, which are great for pushing Sites.

The Logic Bomb is her Unique Ability. It calls the Defenders’ phones, making them ring loud enough to reveal enemy positions and interrupt their Cameras momentarily. As the enemies deal with this ringing, Dokkaebi and her allies can use this opportunity to go into the site and deal with them. She can also hack enemy phones once they are down, allowing her to access the Defender camera for a short time. This can provide enemy locations and other details. Having such a tool can be annoying for enemies to deal with, but it is great for allies.

Mute

Mute in Rainbow Six Siege

  • Price: 1,000 Renown
  • Speed: 1
  • Health: 3
  • Unique Ability: Signal Disruptor

Mute is one of the Pathfinder operators, meaning that he costs 1,000 Renown and has been there since the launch of the game. Mute comes in with the MP5KSMG and the M590A1Shotgun, which are popular weapons in all ranks. He also has access to a Bulletproof Camera or Nitro Cell, which is a C4 explosive capable of killing anyone near its explosion.

The main reason Mute is the only Pathfinder in the S-Tier is because of his Unique Ability, the Signal Disruptor. This jammer can make any electronic gadget in its range unusable. This includes the Attacker Drones, Ace’s S.E.L.M.A. Aqua Breacher, and, of course, Dokkaebi’s calls. He can disable other electronic devices just by placing the jammers somewhere. The jammers can be shot by a single bullet or destroyed using grenades, so place them in areas where enemies can’t destroy them easily. A lot of tracking Attackers can be frustrated by the fact that the Mute jammers will make their abilities obsolete.

Lesion

Lesion

  • Price: 10,000 Renown
  • Speed: 2
  • Health: 2
  • Unique Ability: Gu

Lesion is another Defender that was introduced in Operation Blood Orchid. His primary weapon options are the SIX12 SDshotgun and T-5 SMG, which has a very high fire rate and can be considered the best submachine gun in the game right now. The Super Shorty is a great secondary weapon that can open holes and rotate points on the Site. The Impact Grenade gadget allows him to deal with Shield users while roaming around the Bomb Site.

His Unique Ability is the Gu, which are Toxic Mines. Lesion can place eight of them in different areas. Once triggered, these mines can poison enemies, dealing constant damage and limiting movement speed. If spotted, these can be destroyed by a single bullet of any weapon, as well as explosions from grenades. Lesion is a great roaming operator that you can use to block off a specific area of the map. Once an enemy triggers a GU mine and tries to remove them, you can easily gun them down using the T-5 SMG.

Azami

Azami

  • Price: 15,000 Renown
  • Speed: 2
  • Health: 2
  • Unique Ability: Kiba Barrier

Azami was introduced in the Demon Veil expansion. For her primary weapon, she has the 9x19VSN SMG, but most players prefer the ACS12combat shotgun, which has a magazine size of 30. The D-50 is the only option for her secondary weapon. She has the Impact Grenade and Barbed Wire for her Gadgets.

Her Unique Ability, the Kiba Barrier, makes Azami one of the best operators in the game. These throwable devices can stick to surfaces, creating a barrier. Azami can use these barriers to block off walls, or make peak angles for herself on different areas of the map. With the recent nerf, bullets can now destroy her Barrier, which was quite annoying to deal with before. Making use of her fast-firing Shotgun and Barriers takes a lot of skill, but once mastered, it can help you win rounds easily.

Solis

Solis

  • Price: 20,000 Renown
  • Speed: 2
  • Health: 2
  • Unique Ability: Spec-IO Electro-Sensor

Solis is an operator introduced in Operation Solar Raid. She has the P-90 and ITA12L shotgun for her primary weapons, and the SMG-11 for her secondary. Her Unique Ability is the Spec-IO Electro-Sensor, which is a device that identifies electronic devices, such as drones, and can ping them for allies to see.

Solis is a great utility operator who can inform her teammates of enemy locations or where they are pushing from. One of the best uses of her ability is to go down one floor of the Bomb Site and wait until the Attackers plant the Defuser. After this, you can use her ability to locate them and either shoot them from below or throw an Impact Grenade.

Fenrir

Fenrir

  • Price: 25,000 Renown
  • Speed: 2
  • Health: 2
  • Unique Ability: F-Natt Dread Mine

Fenrir is one of the recent operators introduced in Operation Dread Factor, and he acts as a Trapper. His primary weapon options are the MP7SMG and SASG-12 semi-automatic shotgun. The MP7 is the better option out of the two, because of its high fire rate. For his secondary, go for the Bailiff 410 over the 5.7 USG to create peak holes or rotates. For Gadgets, he has the Bulletproof Camera and the Barbed Wire, which is great as it synergizes with his Unique Ability.

Fenrir’s Unique Ability is the F-Natt Dread Mine, which might be one of the most annoying and difficult utilities to face. Because of this, Fenrir also has one of the highest ban rates in all ranks. These Mines can stick to surfaces and release a gas whenever an enemy is nearby. Enemies caught in the radius have limited visibility until they get out of the zone or shoot the mines. All the skill regarding these mines depend upon knowing where to place them in every Bomb Site on each map.

Tubarao

Tubarao

  • Price: 25,000 Renown
  • Speed: 2
  • Health: 2
  • Unique Ability: Zoto Canister

Tubarao is the latest Defender in the game, introduced in Operation Deep Freeze. His primary options are the MPXSMG and the AR-15.50Marksman Rifle. This Marksman Rifle is a very good weapon that has steady recoil and a suppressor that muffles down sound. His only second option is the P226 Mk25 Handgun. For his Gadget, you can go for Proximity Alarm or the Nitrol Cell.

Tubarao’s Unique Ability is the Zoto Canister, which is a great addition to the area control tool. This throwable device sticks on surfaces and is mainly used to delay breach charges set up by Thermite or Hibana. This persists for 12 seconds, and he has three charges in his inventory. When used on the floor, it causes enemy footsteps to appear. This a great feature, because if used from below, you can get info on the enemy and can kill them using the Nitro Cell.
