Honkai: Star Rail announced that it’s giving away a free five-star character in Version 1.6. The upcoming Honkai: Star Rail update will drop this month, which will be the final update for 2023.
Honkai: Star Rail just concluded its Version 1.6 Special Program stream, “Crown of the Mundane and Divine,” where it announced the many new features, main story quests, limited-time events, and Simulated Universe modes. The stream also showcased the full kits of five-star banner characters Ruan Mei and Dr. Ratio, and four-star character Xueyi. Plus, confirming the highly anticipated banner re-runs of Kafka and Blade.
Honkai: Star Rail Introduces 2.0 Characters Misha and Sparkle
Honkai: Star Rail gives players their first look at new characters, Misha and Sparkle, who will become available in version 2.0 next year.
Towards the end of the Version 1.6 Special Program special stream, it was announced that Honkai: Star Rail will give away a free Dr. Ratio between the start of Version 1.6’s “Panta Rhei” Warp phase to Version 2.1. Players will be able to receive Dr. Ratio in their mailboxes as long as they’ve finished “A Moment of Peace,” which is the very first mission of the game. This is HoYoverse’s way of thanking the players for their support after winning Best Mobile Game at The Game Awards, Apple’s iPhone Game of the Year, and Google Play’s Best Game.
Many Honkai: Star Rail players expressed their excitement since this will save them from pulling multiple times for their first Dr. Ratio during the second half of Version 1.6. Likewise, this will also allow them to increase Dr. Ratio’s Eidolon level if they decide to still pull for his banner.
Dr. Ratio is an Imaginary-type character following the Path of The Hunt. He’s a member of the Intelligentsia Guild, who believes in imparting knowledge to everyone in the universe to cure them of ignorance. He’s also described as self-centered and quite eccentric because he often wears a plaster sculpture bust over his head. Dr. Ratio’s personality may be off-putting for some Honkai: Star Rail characters, but many players already find him entertaining.
Honkai: Star Rail has many exciting features and characters coming in future updates. The epilogue of the Version 1.6 Special Program stream revealed the new characters who will be part of the Penacony arc, including the likes of Black Swan, Sparkle, Acheron, and many more, as well as a quick look at the world’s surroundings. Honkai: Star Rail hasn’t confirmed when the Trailblazers will finally land in Penacony and continue the main story, but players can definitely expect this arc early next year.
