Victorious three weeks ago 0-2 from these same Limburgers, Stéphane Guidi's players did it again, this Saturday evening in Sclessin. Notably thanks to a very prominent Amber Barrett in first armor. The Irish international showed her teammates the way forward after twelve minutes by converting a penalty that she had collected herself (1-0).
Toloba could then have put Standard a little more in control, but the attacker, although perfectly placed, did not target her shot. Guido Brepoels' team was unable to keep the ball. The pressure put on by the Liégeoises intensified and it was therefore not illogical to see Barrett score his 16th personal goal with a superb curling shot (2-0).
The Limburgers had their hands full, and even had to return to the locker room with a three-goal deficit. Fon did not hesitate to increase the brand's weight.
Genk much more in sight
With their new goalkeeper Mirthe Claes, replacing Van Wijngarden, the Genkoises showed a completely different face in the second period, scoring two goals via their captain Vandersanden and Vanzeir, from the penalty spot.
Less enterprising after the break, the Liégeoises still scored a 4th goal through Ademi (first achievement of the season for her) and will therefore travel to OHL with the hope of still being crowned Belgian champions , they who have been chasing the national coronation since 2017!
