Larry Nassar is currently serving a life sentence (three different sentences ranging from 40 to 175 years in prison) after being convicted in 2017 and 2018 for decades of sexual violence against 265 gymnasts. The compensation granted by the government is a response to complaints filed by numerous victims who accused the FBI of not having conducted an “adequate investigation”, explained the Department of Justice in a press release.
