Tyrese Maxey and the Philadelphia 76ers are facing elimination on the road against the New York Knicks Tuesday evening.

Philadelphia found itself down 3-1 in the first round series. Mistakes were defining the team as it looked like the 76ers were going to be run out of the arena in Madison Square Garden.

That’s when Maxey absolutely went off.

Down 96-90 with 25.1 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, Maxey nailed a three-pointer. He was also fouled, hitting on the free throw to make it a two-point game.

Down by three points as time was expiring, Maxey then nailed a three-pointer to send this game to overtime. It absolutely stunned the home crowd.

Talk about putting the team on your back.

Tyrese Maxey finished regulation having scored 41 points on 16-of-28 shooting, including 7-of-12 on three-pointers. He made up for a lackluster effort from Joel Embiid, who scored 15 points in regulation.

Whether it will be good enough for the 76ers to come out on top and force a Game 6 remains to be seen.
