SINGAPORE — Health and wellness enthusiasts can look forward to a plethora of wellness experiences at this year’s Wellness Festival Singapore (WFS), which is returning for its third edition.

From 21 June till 21 July, festival goers can enjoy a range of fitness and meditation activities such as sound meditation and yoga, as well as art and lifestyle programs like art jamming and nature walks.

The month-long festival, an extension from last year’s three-week run, will have over 120 organised programmes across 75-odd partners in the wellness, lifestyle and hotel industries. The programmes will be carried out across six precincts islandwide, and conveniently located near iconic precincts and public transport, said the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) in a press release on Thursday (18 April).

“With more travellers prioritising wellness, we believe Singapore is well-placed to be a leading Urban Wellness destination that prioritises holistic well-being,” said STB’s sports and wellness executive director, Ong Ling Lee.

‘Glow Festival by Prudential’ anchor event

WFS 2024 will launch a new anchor event “Glow Festival by Prudential”, a collaboration between STB and Exceed Sports and Entertainment. It will be held at Marina Bay Sands Event Plaza and Rain Oculus from 5 to 21 July, with the venue hosting over 70 classes, workouts and workshops curated by Glow’s partners at lululemon and Pure International, featuring global ambassadors and local celebrity talent.

This year’s festival will also introduce new technology-led, sensory-rich wellness experiences such as a one-of-a-kind light, sound and frequency therapeutic experience (The Oracle by Alpha Wave), and a virtual boxing and taekwondo experience (Virtual Reality workout zone with Refract Technologies).

Attendees can also participate in breath-work, meditation, and sound healing sessions; take part in expressive art making with sustainable fashion enterprise Cloop; and contribute to a special collective artwork. There will also be a wellness-themed food-and-beverage and retail bazaar.

Other festival highlights and activities

Another key programmes and activations is CapitaLand’s Wellness and Community Festival, Live It Up!. It will have over 90 wellness activities such as mass fitness workouts, mental wellness workshops, and health-related fairs at participating CapitaLand malls and workspace properties. The inaugural Live It Up! Community Run will be also held on 29 June.

Meanwhile, the National Gallery will run “The Gallery Wellness Special 2024”, with 10 curated programs showcasing artworks and sticker art, catering to people of all ages. Marina Bay Sands will also host a range of activities under its “Where Mind and Body Connect” programme, such as sound meditation, soul flow, pilates, HIIT (high-intensity interval training), hatha yoga and vinyasa yoga. The 60-minute classes will be held every morning at SkyPark Observation Deck.

The Orchard Road precinct will also host activities like bouldering, yoga, spinning, pilates and a curated culinary experience focused on sustainability and wellness.

Other activities to look out for include a Zumba dance session and paint art jamming by Madame Tussauds Singapore, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy by COMO Shambala Singapore, a night nature walk at Bukit Batok Nature Park and a bumboat ride.

More information on the festival’s listings and programming can be found on the WFS website.
