A new report has revealed more details on the massive offer Caitlin Clark turned down from the BIG3 and it shows the league did all it could to land the former college basketball superstar.
Caitlin Clark has not just been one of the biggest stories in women’s college basketball over the last month but has been one of the top sources of headlines for American sports in general. The all-time leader in college scoring led the Iowa Hawkeyes to a second straight trip to the National Champion in March, and she was unsurprisingly the top overall selection in this month’s WNBA Draft.

However, even before she came up just short in the women’s NCAA title game versus South Carolina, it was revealed that BIG3 League owner Ice Cube had made an offer to Clark that would have seen her make millions to play in just a handful of games and still be available to meet her WNBA obligations.
The 22-year-old did not accept the offer and will dedicate her upcoming time toward preparing for her first season with the Indiana Fever and participating in the 2024 Summer Olympics. But this week a report from Outkick revealed the complete details of the offer from BIG3 and it proves Caitlin Clark isn’t about making as much money as possible at the moment.

It is a stunning offer to turn down since Clark is making less than $80,000 in her first season with the Fever, however, she is making huge money from sponsorships. Just recently she inked a deal with Nike that will pay her $28 million over the next eight years. So she has the option of choosing personal endeavors over maximizing every money-making opportunity she has available.
The WNBA season begins on May 14 and the Summer Olympics start in July.
