SINGAPORE — Eight people were taken to the hospital after a road traffic accident involving multiple vehicles at the junction of Tampines Avenue 1 and Tampines Avenue 4 on Monday (22 April).

In response to queries from Yahoo Southeast Asia, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said the accident took place at about 7.07am.

Trapped leg under the wheel of a car

“Upon SCDF’s arrival, a person was lying on the road with one leg trapped under the wheel of a car. SCDF used hydraulic rescue equipment to free the person’s leg,” it said.

SCDF also reported that four individuals were transported to Changi General Hospital, two to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, and two others to KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

“A few members of the public, including a nurse and two off-duty SCDF officers, had rendered assistance to the injured persons following the accident. SCDF will be reaching out to commend them for their public spiritedness,” it added.
