Marloie wastes, blows then emerges 2-1 against Gouvy, but is not yet out of the woods

This success of the Mosans leaves them alive in this series, one unit from Marloie and three from Gouvy before a final day which will offer the following meetings: Seraing B – Marloie, Mormont – Wanze/Bas-Oha and Gouvy – Longlier . Needless to say, the entire province of Luxembourg is counting on the residents of Laforge to do the job against Wanze/Bas-Oha and thus avoid last minute disillusionment. Like the one to which Marlovanais and Gouvions were entitled this Sunday, at around 4:50 p.m. and at the end of a meeting full of twists and turns, as pleasant as it was rhythmic.

Quickly put into orbit by a nice corner strike from Lambert, Marloie could and even should have returned to the locker room for the first time with a three or four goal lead.

Offering fast and energetic football, mainly carried forward, Arnaud Poels' men often put the Gouvionne defense out of position and offered themselves several three-star chances.

A slat from Devresse first, taking a free kick from Lambert at point blank range, tries from Lambert, Mohimont and Jadot at the woods, saves in front of the line from Scerra (on a shot from Lambert) and Zitella (on a corner from Mohimont), a too quick shot from Body which was nevertheless well placed or even a dizzying reflex from Regnier on a point-blank heading from Hanneuse.

Three slats for the Burton

And all this without managing to double the gap while Gouvy only showed himself to be truly dangerous on an overly crossed try from F. Burton.

In short, the kind of scenario that makes you fear an equalizer on the first real opponent's response.

And that's what almost happened from the restart when Alain Colomberotto's players inherited a penalty kick after a handball from Martinet. But F. Burton kicked the penalty over the bar. Before seeing his brother shake the crossbar in turn and even twice.

This shows that everything was possible in this part, especially since Marloie continued to threaten a very inspired Regnier via Lambert or Hanneuse.

But it was on the visitor's side that a goal fell less than ten minutes from the end of regulation time when Guillaume, who had entered a little earlier, inherited the ball from a cross from Grommen before crossing a winning shot (1-1 ).

Relief for Gouvy who, at that moment, ensured his rescue and gray expression among the Famennois who had meanwhile learned of the equalizer of Wanze/Bas-Oha against the Seresians.

Three minutes later, however, F. Burton, decidedly unlucky, was penalized with a penalty for a slight push on Hanneuse, then with a red card in the process for grumbling. And Lambert, for his part, was quick to make himself the hero of his team… a few minutes before learning the final score of Wanze/Bas-Oha – Seraing (2-1). The Marlovan striker's double could therefore prove decisive. Or, in eight days, be forgotten if the results are not favorable to your team.
