“Longer deadlines” for Ysaline Bonaventure, who will miss Roland-Garros and Wimbledon

Roland-Garros is the next Grand Slam on the program from May 26. Wimbledon will start on July 1. The US Open will begin on August 26. The next Australian Open will be held in January 2025.

Ysaline Bonaventure, 29, who has fallen to 482nd place in the world at the WTA, emphasizes that the road “is still long but the desire and motivation are there, so we continue to work every day to get back in great shape.”

Bonaventure had retired in the second round of qualifying for the Australian Open on January 11. She was playing her first tournament in Melbourne since returning to competition after a six-month break following burnout. A few weeks later, she announced that she had undergone knee surgery because “the pain was no longer bearable” and it was “impossible for her to perform at the highest level.”
