Mitchell, 21, made his first-team debut at Limburg United during the 2019-2020 season. In 2021, he joined the University of California, Santa Barbara. The son of former Ostend player Barry Mitchell played three seasons in the NCAA. He was voted Big West Conference Player of the Year in 2023 and has been part of the conference's All-Star team for the past two seasons.
