Letter: Advocate for taxpayers pushed out in Exeter

Letter: Advocate for taxpayers pushed out in Exeter

Well, I see the Exeter Township supervisors got their way again. They got rid of Supervisor David Hughes, who was for the taxpayer. He tried to get good contracts and control spending. The other supervisors gave him a rough time.

I know he wasn’t liked by everyone, but he tried his best to save the taxpayers’ money and keep it from being wasted.

Hughes wanted the Reading Country Club sold because of costs. He was right. Now the other supervisors want to sell it. Even if they do, it will cost the township a lot of money for one reason or another. There was no reason why we had a 23% tax increase except for poor management.

Where did the money come from that Hughes got? I must live on a budget because I’m retired. Why doesn’t the township have to be on a budget? How much will our taxes go up next year?
