Some 112.4 million publications under the hashtag #dance and, under its French-speaking equivalent (#danse), no less than 1.7 million videos. On TikTok, humans and animals compete in performance. In a room, alone in front of a mirror, or between friends, between twins, or triplets, between cats, on a soccer field and even in your kitchen, dance is everywhere and it seems that it has never been so present. But life is not just a series of videos. In fact, the practice of spontaneous and recreational dance has been collapsing for some time.
