Huelva Meeting: Tim Van de Velde and Remi Schyns achieve the qualifying minimum for the Euro in Rome over 3,000m steeplechase

This is very encouraging for the future, especially when we know that it was their first meeting of the season for both of them. They can start to frankly dream of the Paris Olympic Games, knowing that there, the minimum is 8.15.00 (+ the possibilities of repechage via the ranking).

Remi Schyns, bronze medalist in 2016 at the Euro Schools in the 2000 steeplechase, Belgian steeplechase champion in 2022, has been training for almost a year under the advice of Frenchwoman Sophie Duarte, in Toulouse. Aged 43, Duarte was European cross-country champion in 2013. Six years earlier, during the Osaka World Championships, she finished 5th in the 3,000m steeplechase. In his group of athletes, we find Djilali Debrani (5th in the 2019 World Championships in Doha over 3000 steeplechase) and Flavien Szot (3.37.98 over 1500m).
