How to Tame Oasisaur in ARK: Survival Ascended

In ARK: Survival Ascended, the Oasisaur is a giant, invertebrate dinosaur that carries a platform on its back that can hold small biomes. Unlike many other dinosaurs, like the powerful bird Argentavis, the Oasisaur is very docile, and lives its life as a herbivore. However, even though the Oasisaur won’t attack you, it is still a difficult creature to tame.

There are a few ways you can go about taming an Oasisaur, but some methods will be much easier to achieve than others. If you’re looking to tame the massive, crab-like dinosaur, here’s how you can do so quickly and easily.

To help you achieve the most comfortable gameplay, here’s a step-by-step guide on how to increase max dino level in ARK: Survival Ascended.

Where to Find Oasisaur

Before going ahead and taming an Oasisaur, you’ll first need to find one. There is only one specific location where the giant herbivores can be found, which is the Dunes of Scorched Earth. This is the large desert region in the southeast area of the map, which you’ll need to come prepared with heat resistance. You can head to the coordinates 85.4, 25.6 to more accurately locate the region.

Once you’ve entered the region and found yourself an Oasisaur (it’ll be hard to miss), you can begin the process of taming it, and we will use a method that even absolute beginners can utilize.

The process for taming an Oasisaur is actually a bit easier than you might think. Although the Oasisaur is massive and can be intimidating at first, as long as you follow this simple process, you’ll have no problem taming one.

Start by getting a Death Essence. This can be harvested from any creature you’ve tamed that has died. If the creature is higher in level and drag weight, it will be easier to tame the Oasisaur later. You can kill any of the tamed creatures you have using a weapon or a predator.
Now, find yourself an Oasisaur and get on top of it. You can do this by using a flying mount.
When you arrive, you’ll want to access the Oasisaur’s inventory. Once it’s opened, drop the Death Essence into the Oasisaur’s inventory.
Now, you’ll need to protect the reincarnating creature to tame the Oasisaur. To do this, make sure you come prepared with a powerful weapon like a shotgun to fight off the enemies that will attempt to attack the reincarnating creature. For the most part, you’ll just be fighting off some vultures and occasionally deathworms.
After you’ve successfully defended the creature, you’ll be able to name your Oasisaur, indicating that it has successfully been tamed.
