How To Make Money (Gold) Fast in Palia

Making money is a massive part of Palia, where players build a house on their farm plot in the cozy MMO sim by Singularity 6 Corporation. Learning how to make money in Palia is crucial for players to progress quickly, unlock new crafting recipes, buy stylish furniture, and gather resources.

It becomes apparent how crucial making money is. Items like the backpack upgrade are pricey, and getting gold is necessary to complete certain quests, such as Palia‘s ‘Like A Bird’ glider quest. However, the game doesn’t really tell players much about how to make money or the fastest ways to farm gold in Palia. Fortunately, several strategies can help new players get started.

Updated April 16, 2024, by Gemma Johnson: Palia includes various activities to help players make money, from farming to fishing and beyond. However, many players may wonder how to make money in Palia fast, and which are the best methods to make more gold. Of course, Palia is currently in Open Beta, so there is always the potential for other methods to emerge over time. That said, while some methods of making money in Palia may have started as the best, like hunting, other money-making options have since become available as the game has grown. While every player is likely to have their individual preferences and preferred activities, there are undoubtedly better ways of making money in Palia over others when comparing how much gold they can each potentially make. This update takes these changes into consideration, adding a couple of new ways to make money fast in Palia.

Fast Ways To Make Money In Palia

Several core activities in Palia can help newer players make money faster, whereas more experienced players may likely find their preferred gold-farming methods. Where there is value to be found in activities like farming and cooking over time, making money in the early stages of Palia includes less time-consuming and less resource-heavy activities like hunting, foraging, catching crabs, and fishing. Players should also use their shipping bin regularly in addition to Zeki’s general store to sell goods, as it refreshes often. However, making more money in Palia sometimes means venturing further afield with more lucrative activities like mining.

How To Make Money Mining Star Stones

Mining with other players in Palia

Players can mine various types of ores in Palia, such as copper. However, the most valuable gems in Palia are Star Stones. These are often high-value items associated with different star signs and rarities. The most valuable Star Stones are Ruby, Amythyst, and Sapphire as detailed in the table below:

While Star Stones are valuable on their own, when sold with other finds like stone and ores, players can increase their gold income quite significantly when selling them either through their Shipping Bin or at Zeki’s Store.

How To Make Money Fishing

Players can also make money in Palia by catching fish and can help players net a decent profit if they grab and sell certain species. For instance, some of the most profitable fish in Palia when sold at Star Value quality include Long Nosed Unicorn Fish and Ancient Fish, both worth 615 Gold, plus Flametongue Ray, Swordfin Eel, and Void Ray all valued at 562 gold each. In general, more common varieties can also help players make more gold in Palia if players sell a lot of them at once. However, players may need to experiment with fishing spots or add worms to get more valuable varieties.

How To Make Money Hunting

palia hunting

Hunting Sernuk or Chapaa was perhaps the best-known early-game money-making activity in Palia until Star Stones were introduced. However, for many players, hunting is still one of the fastest ways to make money in Palia, given these deer-like creatures are so readily available across the landscape. Sernuk also respawn quickly, so players can repeatedly hunt them using their bow in Palia‘s best hunting spots, like the Whispering Banks.

Sernuk Hide increases in value to 26 gold when cooked as Grilled Meat. However, Sernuk Antlers are the most profitable, worth 64 gold each or 100 gold for Elder Sernuk Antlers.

How To Make Money Foraging

For relatively fast and easy money-making in Palia in early-game days, sometimes foraging is the way to go. While a small cost of gold, sometimes it’s worth taking advantage of Palia‘s fast travel mechanics to visit Bahari Bay and its various beach areas like Beachcomber Cove to collect Unopened Oysters. Opening these in the inventory gives players the chance to find Pearls worth 70 gold each, plus Oyster Meat for cooking.

In addition to increasing players’ foraging skill level, foraging for collectible wild items like mushrooms and Unopened Oysters can also prove lucrative. Some mushrooms, like Mountain Morels, are available near players’ farm plots. These are worth 90 gold when cooked as a set of 3 mushrooms. Players can also find more near Thorny Thicket and around The Outskirts area of Bahari Bay, given it’s not always possible to see many in some areas.

How To Make Money Catching Fish And Crabs

As well as catching bugs, players can make gold in Palia by catching crabs around Bahari Bay’s beach areas, including purple crabs called Spineshell Crabs. These critters are worth 69 gold each, compared to the standard Bahari Crab valued at 24 gold.

Spineshell Crabs require an extra smoke bomb to catch, but the additional coin is worth it, especially with many roaming the beaches. However, players must catch them quickly before they disappear into the sand. Catching crabs can sometimes be quicker and more reliable than fishing, at least for new players.
