Hades 2 has a couple of different gathering tools that you can unlock using resources, such as the Fishing Rod. In your first couple of runs toward Chronos, Melinoe will find fishing spots, but the game will say “Tool Required” if you try to fish without the proper item. In this guide, we’ll teach Hades 2 players how to unlock Gathering Tools and how to craft the Fishing Rod.
Hades 2: Psyche and Grasp Explained
Figuring out all the new systems in Hades 2 can take a bit of work. The Grasp Meter or your ‘Grasp of the Arcana’ is a great example of this.
How to Unlock the Fishing Rod in Hades 2
Bronze and F-Fabric
The first step to getting the Fishing Rod in Hades 2 is to unlock the Night’s Craftwork Incantation using the cauldron in front of Hecate’s usual spot in the Crossroads. You only need one Moly to unlock it, so players should be able to grab it rather quickly.
After the Incantation, you can check out the Gathering Tools by heading to the Silver Pool (the area where your weapons are found—right by the training station).
To actually craft the Fishing Rod, players will need to acquire the following items:
Unfortunately, Hades 2 players will not come across Bronze for quite some time, as it can only be obtained once they gain access to The Surface after performing the Permeation of Witching-Wards Incantation.
You will also need to unlock the Crescent Pick Gathering Tool at the Silver Pool. Once the conditions are met, you should be able to
find Bronze in the City of Ephyra on the Surface

And to get F-Fabric, you can get it via Arachne in the dungeon or by trading with the Wretched Broker at the Crossroads. You can unlock the shop by performing the Summoning of Mercantile Fortune Incantation.

As of the time of writing, the only thing we’ve been able to use collected fish for is to sell them at the Broker at the Crossroads. He’ll offer players Bones of varying amounts based on the rarity of the fish.
