How to Farm Money (Zeni) in Sand Land

Luckily for players who are looking to boost their Zeni, there are a few different methods that can be used to farm this currency in Sand Land, especially when you utilize a few of these methods alongside one another, or one after the other. Some of these techniques may require cave exploration, completing quests, or collecting and selling certain items, so they may be restricted until you reach certain areas or complete other objectives as a prerequisite. Each of these methods has been outlined below, enabling you to determine which ones will best suit you in the stage of the game you are currently at.

Take Hect’s Deal (Vow of Family Quest)

After meeting the following prerequisites, you can initiate a side quest known as Vow of Family, by heading to Lisab’s Junker Market and speaking to a little girl named Reya:

Main Quests:

Side Quests:

  • Task From Mayor Tor
  • Desert Soldier
  • Lost Peddler
  • Suspicious Cave
  • Slacker Junker
  • Tinkerer Siblings

After initiating the quest from Reya, you will travel to Mount Lisab Cave and encounter Hect, who will offer to pay you off with 10,000 Zeni as a bribe. This is perhaps the quickest way in the game to obtain a huge boost of currency, but unfortunately, this can only be completed once. Despite this, you should aim to complete this side quest as soon as possible, as it will give you a decent amount of Zeni to fall back on.

Complete Side Quests

The Vow of Family side quest is one of many examples when it comes to quickly gaining extra Zeni, as most side quests offer a couple of hundred Zeni upon completion. As many side quests can be completed very quickly and easily, you should be able to complete plenty of them alongside your main quests, ensuring you gain the maximum amount of rewards possible as you keep progressing through the events of the game.

Complete Rescue Quests

Rescue quests will pop up as you explore various locations of the desert wilderness, with NPCs such as traveling merchants or soldiers being attacked by nearby creatures. You can complete these quests simply by interfering with the attack and defeating the surrounding creatures, which will earn you 300 Zeni per successful rescue.

Complete Junker Races

On the world map, Junker Races are identified with a checkered flag marker. By participating in these races, you can earn some extra Zeni – though you will need to have the required vehicle for each race unlocked prior, so some races may be restricted until you are further along in your playthrough.

Complete Bounties

You can visit the Lisab Junker’s Market to sign up for and participate in Bounties, which are extra quests and combats that will earn you some solid rewards – many of which include Zeni. While these encounters usually are quite difficult, they often provide you with upwards of 1,000 Zeni as a reward, so are well worth the time.

Sell Unneeded or Rare Items to Merchants

This one may seem like an obvious one, but accumulating rare or valuable items, materials, or parts and selling them to various merchants can earn you some easy cash. Some items in the game are specifically designed for selling rather than crafting too, with Silver and Gold Ores in particular providing some decent monetary value upon harvest due to dropping rate materials, such as Quartz.

Utilize & Upgrade Thief’s Skills

Thief excels at harvesting and accumulating resources, so you should prioritize upgrading his Skills as soon as possible. Thief’s Zeni Ahoy skill will increase the amount of Zeni you earn by defeating enemies, increasing the base rate of your monetary gain for the rest of your playthrough.

In addition to this, you can also unlock Thief’s Item Picker skill, which will destroy and harvest materials from nearby plants, Ores, and rocks. When pairing Item Picker with Zeni Ahoy, will enable you to benefit the most from each exploration, farming Zeni through defeating nearby creatures or enemies, and also harvesting materials in the same area to later resell to merchants.
