Homelander Declares The Seven ‘Wrathful Gods’ as Butcher Admits He’s ‘Insanely Desperate’

The highly anticipated fourth season will premiere on Prime Video on June 13

The Boys are back — and this time with a vengeance!

In the new trailer for the highly anticipated fourth season of the Prime Video superhero series, Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) is in a dark place with only months to live and attempting to reunite The Boys, while Homelander (Antony Starr) is taking his power trip — and The Seven — to another level.

The clip begins with Butcher entering The Boys’ headquarters in New York City’s iconic Flatiron building with his tail tucked between his legs. As he starts to accept some hard truths, he opens up about his previous shortcomings.

“I owe Becca my life,” he tells the group as the scene flashes back to Homelander walking away with Butcher’s late wife’s son. “And all I see are messes I’ve made and I ain’t got time to fix it. I can do one thing right with the time I’ve got left, and I can’t do it alone. I can’t do it without you.”

As the trailer transitions into a wide shot of a crowd gathered in front of Vought headquarters, Homelander addresses what remains of The Seven.

“This country is corrupt beyond repair,” he says while angry protesters begin to fight with one another. “So we’ve gotta save it. It’s not going to be easy, we’re going to have to do some terrible things for the greater good.”

“You’ll no longer be beloved celebrities, you will be wrathful gods,” he continues as his hand grows tighter around a wooden bat. “Show me a little wrath.”

The Deep (Chace Crawford) then smashes someone’s head in before blood starts to spray and a new super, Firecracker (Valorie Mae Curry), kicks another man who is gagged and bound.

Amid fiery flames of bodies being disposed of, Joe Kessler (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), issues a warning to Butcher. “The whole world is about to burn. We need someone like you, Billy, before the supes start rounding us up and start dumping us off in camps,” he says forebodingly.

Turns out, Butcher has just the thing to rid the world of Homelander and The Seven. When he announces that he’s discovered a “virus that kills supes,” Starlight (Erin Moriarty) isn’t quite on board.

“That’s insane and desperate, even for you,” she says, to which Butcher replies, “Well insanely desperate is where we are, don’t ya think?”

Later, during a TV appearance, Firecracker says she’s “declaring hunting season on Starlighters.” As tentacles explode out of mouths and a chicken bursts through a man’s chest, things reach a boiling point.

“Look we’ve all done bad s—,” Hughie Campbell (Jack Quaid) admits. “What’s insane is that our solution to every problem is murder.”

“Violence isn’t brave,” he says. The Deep disagrees: “Violence is power.”

“If we’re ever going to win against monsters, we need to start acting human,” Hughie says.

While murderous flying beavers attack, legs are sawed off, faces are ripped and The Deep enjoys a bloomin’ onion from Outback Steakhouse, the Butcher signs off, “You’re all f—ing welcome.”
