Helldivers 2 Players Have a Massive Order to Complete If They Want to Unlock a New Stratagem

Helldivers 2 has placed a daunting challenge against the community: requiring players to kill a whopping 2 billion Automatons in order to unlock a new Stratagem. Stratagems are a crucial part of Helldivers 2, giving players massive amounts of firepower and other tools that can help them complete missions. Now, developer Arrowhead is raising the stakes even higher, placing this new Stratagem behind a seemingly impossible task.

This new order follows the announcement of Helldivers 2‘s new Polar Patriots Warbond, which includes several new items, weapons, and armor pieces to unlock. Warbonds are one of the many components that continue to make the game such a compelling experience for players, with other recent Helldivers 2 updates adding giant mechs to the battlefield. In addition to new weapons and mechs, players are also able to use a wide range of items called Stratagems, which can quickly help turn the tide of a mission.

This new major order was shared by the Helldivers Alerts Twitter account, which broke down the details of the new mission for the community. Players will need to kill 2 billion Automatons to unlock the new Anti-Tank Mine Stratagem. Helldivers 2 already offers a wide range of Stratagems, and the list continues to grow with more updates. However, if players want to use this new Anti-Tank Mine, they will need to work together to defeat an immense number of Automatons.

Helldivers 2 Orders Players to Destroy 2 Billion Automatons

While this feat seems near-impossible, the Helldivers 2 community should not be underestimated. Previous major orders have been decimated by Helldivers 2‘s massive community. In April, the community was tasked with defeating two billion Terminids for a different major order. Terminids and Automatons are the two adversaries found within Helldivers 2, with each faction featuring a wide assortment of different enemy types.

This new order follows the recent Helldivers 2 PlayStation Network scandal, which involved a planned update that would have forced all players to connect to Sony’s online systems in order to access the game. Helldivers 2 is available on both PC and PlayStation 5 platforms and, up until this point, had not required a PlayStation login. However, earlier this year, Sony revealed this new update would be rolling out, sending a shock throughout the Helldivers 2 community. Players pushed back against this update in a major way, review-bombing Helldivers 2 on Steam in an attempt to make their voices heard. Eventually, Arrowhead and Sony both confirmed this update was being canceled, seemingly proving democracy really is one of the most important factors of the Helldivers 2 experience.
