Giro: Narvaez surprises Pogacar in Turin and takes the first pink jersey

The Slovenian had the effort on the last climb less than five kilometers from the finish. Returning with Narvaez to the leading group of which Schachmann was part, he did not manage to let go of all his opponents on the last ramps of the climb. In the sprint, the runner from the Ineos Grenadiers team won! He offers himself the first pink jersey of this 107th Giro.

Schachmann takes second place just ahead of Pogacar. Two Belgians finished in the top 10 of this stage: Quinten Hermans won the peloton sprint for sixth place just ahead of Mauri Vansevenant.

Although he was beaten on the line, Pogacar still did well in view of the final general classification, taking around ten seconds on most of his major opponents, including the Belgian Cian Uijtdebroeks.

For others, like Romain Bardet or Thymen Arensman, the day was much longer. The two men have already lost more than a minute on Pogacar this Saturday.
