Fallout 76: Yao Guai Locations

Quick Links

In Fallout 76, there are a lot of massive and powerful enemies that you can stumble on. This includes human enemies, like the speedy Feral Ghouls, or even animal variants like the Yao Guai. These creatures look like giant, infected bears that have evolved after extensive exposure to radiation.

There are many variations of the Yao Guai, such as the Stunted Yao Guai, the Yao Guai Ghoul, and many more. Each type will give you the same drop of items, except a few which provide additional resources. If you’re looking to catch one yourself, here are the best places to spot the Yao Guai.

There are quite a few locations where you can spot some Yao Guai. We will provide you with the best locations to find the irradiated bear, including a few variants that drop additional rewards, like the Glowing Yao Guai.

The Whitespring Golf Club

The first location to visit to find a few Yao Guais is the Whitespring Golf Club. You can find the golf club in the southeastern section of the map, just south of the New Appalachian Central Trainyard. If you’ve unlocked the Whitespring Resort, it’ll be just across from there.

Make your way to the middle of the golf course, where you’ll find a small cave. Inside here, there will be a Dusky Yao Guai, and occasionally a Legendary Dusky Yao Guai.

Dolly Sods Wilderness

To locate Dolly Sods Wilderness, you can find it in the northeastern section of the map, just east of the Atlas Observatory. You can find one near the entrance of the Dolly Sods Wilderness building, shown in the map image above. There is also one located near the Carson Family Bunker, just south of the main building.

Mountainside Bed & Breakfast

To find the Mountainside Bed & Breakfast, make your way southeast towards the Spruce Knob. Mountainside Bed & Breakfast will be just northwest of here, shown in the map image. To locate some Yao Guais, make your way west of the bed and breakfast, downhill along the railway tracks. There should be 2 to 3 here.

Philippi Battefield Cemetery

The Philippi Battlefield Cemetery is in the northeastern region of the map, just across from the Palace of the Winding Path. You can spot a Yao Guai here in the parking lot, just behind the main building of the cemetery.

Monongah Overlook

Monongah Overlook is on the northeastern section of the map, just east of the Rose Room. Up here at the top, you should be able to spot a Stunted Yao Guai. There is also the occasional Enclave event in between Monogah and The Top of the World, where you can get the chance to take on a Glowing Yao Guai.
