Fallout 4 Player Builds Fortune Teller Hut for Mama Murphy

Highlights

  • Fallout 4 players can build unique settlements, like a fortune-teller hut one player built for Mama Murphy with common resources like wood and steel.
  • Mama Murphy’s custom chair is key to her new sanctuary, which comes complete with neon signs, a cooler for Chems, and a door to let her explore.
  • While this player has dedicated a special building to Mama Murphy, it’s unclear if similar tributes have been made for other Sanctuary NPCs.

A Fallout 4 player has built a unique fortune-teller hut for notorious settler Mama Murphy. Settlement building has been a prominent feature of Fallout 4 since its release, and this player has thought of a unique tribute to Mama Murphy.

Fallout 4 has seen a resurgence of players since the release of Amazon’s Fallout TV series, and many players are experiencing the Boston Commonwealth for the first time. After collecting enough resources, players can start establishing settlements. The first settlement that gamers will discover is Sanctuary, and it’s the post-apocalyptic version of the town that the protagonist lived in before the bombs dropped. Other popular settlement locations include The Castle, Starlight Drive-In, and The Slog. One player has decided to use the settlement-building tools to make Mama Murphy unique lodgings in Sanctuary.

Reddit user CMDRCrandall recently shared an image of their fortune-teller’s hut dedicated to Mama Murphy. The building is mostly composed of Wood which is a fairly common Fallout 4 Settlement resource. Players can acquire Wood by scrapping Pallets, Trees, and many Junk items. Other resources required for this build include Cloth, Glass, Oil, Steel, and necessary Generator materials. An adjacent Street Light connects electricity from a Generator to the small building with an attached wire, powering a sign on the front. Despite having electricity, Mama Murphy’s hut is illuminated by a candle on a desk in front of her chair.

What Settlement Pieces Are Included in the Build?

Once players rescue Mama Murphy from Concord and give her a Jet, she will request that they make her a custom chair. After she has her chair, she will reward gamers with her fortune-telling abilities. The chair plays a key role in this build because the NPC rarely wanders away from it. Neon signs from the Wall Decorations section indicate that Mama Murphy is a “Seer Extraordinaire,” and she has a Cooler on her desk for players to offer her Fallout 4 Chems. The NPC isn’t completely walled in as a door allows her to explore Sanctuary at her leisure. The building is also decorated with a lighthouse painting inside and a drugs sign on the outside.

As this is a small build for Mama Murphy, it could be expanded upon with the rich catalog of Settlement options. Her chair should keep her in the location, but the ability to move around could result in an empty fortune-teller’s hut. Although this player has dedicated a building to Mama Murphy, it remains unclear if they’ve done the same thing for Fallout 4‘s Preston Garvey or other Sanctuary NPCs.
