Eden Hazard confides about the end of his career at Real: “In my head, it was over”

The former number 10 of the Devils further specifies: “I was no longer myself. Before, I was someone who always wanted the ball, even when I was injured. I would have given anything for a goal. But at that point, it wasn't working anymore. In my head, it was over. My physical problems ultimately also played a mental role.”

Eden Hazard speaks for the first time since his retirement: “I no longer enjoyed the field”

Asked about the tackle of Thomas Meunier (during Real – PSG in 2019), which marked the start of his descent into hell, Eden Hazard explains: “Of course, I don't blame him. I think it was normal contact. I have had to endure many more violent hits and tackles during my career and have not been injured. I don't know why this happened. I had played so much that my body couldn't take it anymore”.
