This is the eighth time that Duplantis, 24, Olympic champion and two-time reigning world champion, has advanced the world record, centimeter by centimeter, since he seized it at the expense of Frenchman Renaud Lavillenie on February 8, 2020 in Torun, Poland, bringing him to 6m17.

He jumped 6m05 this year, during the Indoor Worlds in Glasgow.

Ben Broeders took 6th place in this pole vault competition. The Louvaniste jumped 5m42 on his first attempt before missing his three attempts at 5m62.

At the height, Thomas Carmoy missed his three attempts at 2m15, his first bar in the competition, finishing 10th.
