The results of the first tests were positive, according to the club. Carlos Tevez, 40, will remain in hospital awaiting additional tests.
Tevez ends his playing career in 2022 and became coach of Independiente in August 2023. The “Apache” played 76 international matches for Argentina, scoring 13 goals. He was named Footballer of the Year twice during his career: in Brazil, where he also won the championship with Corinthians, and in Italy, where he won the title twice with Juventus. He won five further championships with Argentina's top club Boca Juniors, two Premier League titles with Manchester United and one with Manchester City, as well as winning the Champions League with Manchester United in 2008.
